Aurora Expeditions
Antarctica & Sth Georgia
In March 2020, I was commissioned to join Aurora Expeditions during their last voyage of the season aboard the fresh faced Greg Mortimer ship.
The journey would take us across the infamous Drake Passage, onto the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, Falkland Islands, and finally return to Ushuaia.
We set off with high hopes for a successful voyage, epic weather and newfound friends.
During our short, but incredible 5 days along the peninsula, we were greeted with some of the most phenomenal light and weather conditions. All the while, being the only ship in sight.
When asked whether I would do it all again, despite the long journey home, I continually answer yes. Antarctica truly is the last frontier and will hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again.
